Horror has not been my bag, but this podcast is making it increasingly appealing. Having enjoyed the recent episodes, I just finished bulldozing my way through all the back episodes, and am quite pleased to see the positive evolution the show has gone through. The semi-recent addition of Alasdair Stewart as the host was a great move. Perhaps English listeners would be less impressed, but to an American ear, there's something a little spookier about an English accent, even when he's not trying to be. In general, just a great fit personality-wise, and the stories being brought out have been steadily increasing in quality. Or, I've been increasingly indoctrinated. Whatever they're doing, it's working. I would give this a 5 except that horror is still not entirely my thing. I think if you are a horror fan, though... you couldn't go wrong here.

Great SF stories and a really nice sense of community owing in no small part to Steve Eley's humble, thoughtful and inviting personality. His intro's and outtro's add a definite Escape Pod flavor to what would otherwise just be a quality collection of short audio SF. There are other SF podcasts with higher production values, and Steve does women's voices horribly... but it's almost part of the charm. His editorial choices are almost always excellent.
