Secret Frequency - Mar 5, 2008

Rating:

Creepy intro. I would recommend dumping the roboto voice, because it does the same thing that Escape Pod's does, namely, make the audio difficult to understand. Once the hosts took the mic, stuff got much better. Steve's voice is at once engaging and crisp, and sounds FULL of energy, regardless of his then coffee-level. I had just finished reading a book by Mr. Rollins, and was fascinated to hear some more about his new show. As a member of the Green party, I am at once shocked and ashamed that I had never heard of Mr. Kramer before today. I am subscribing now, and will listen through the backlog. It's refreshing to find a voice speaking directly to the new political landscape. Fascinating show, both of you. Thanks for it!
Leather Radio Network - Mar 5, 2008

Rating:

I cracked up at the juxtaposition of classical and cultured tones, and the immediate indication of the subject matter of this podcast. Sadly, the episode I listened to suffered from some severe audio hiss after the initial introduction, and it really distracted from the interview. I would highly recommend a new recording device, or some sound dampening. I'll keep my rating neutral until then, and check out some other shows next time.
Heroes of Science Fiction and Fantasy - Mar 5, 2008

Rating:

A solid review of Sci-Fi entertainment. The host is no-nonsense at first, and gets the information out clinically and with a minimum of futzing about. Sound quality is clean and clear. The Kirk Sneak Attacks are legendary, and clearly showcase the host's sense of humor. My only complaint would be that I would rather hear some direct reaction to the content, instead of the written review read.
Handyguys Podcast - Mar 5, 2008

Rating:

Solid quality. The intro is professional, but not flashy. The hosts are clearly knowledgeable, and yet retain a sense of humility and inclusion. I learned more about window repair and updating in a few minutes than I would have expected, and fully intend to listen to all of these shows. Great podcast for when you are home-minded but skill-short. Thanks!
