Just Not Right
After iTunes re-vamped it's software, the images to my show do not appear when I highlight an episode.

For example, when I download the latest In Latte Veritas and put my mouse over the latest episode in iTunes, the cover art appears in the lower left corner of the screen. When I do the same for the latest episode of Just Not Right, it's a blank screen.

My cover art shows up when I select Just Not Right episodes 25 and 24, but it's blank when I select 26 and 27.

Any ideas? I edit my ID3 tags after I upload the file to libsyn. It's worked in the past- just not recently.

What software are you using to record your show? I know there are some out there that allow you to choose the image for the file before the final MP3 file is produced therefore emeding it into the meta tags.

I use Audacity.

After I upload the mp3 file, I go into my libsyn media files and edit the attributes - title, artist, image, etc. It's worked in the past.

Hmmmm...I had NEVER been able to get the images in until I dragged my files into iTunes, manually edited the art, and then dragged the file back out to my hard drive.

There was an iTunes support article about it, but I can't find it right now.

I've been under the impression that the stuff in the Libsyn feed is just for the "cover art" in the iTunes Music store, not individual episodes.

I have also had problems with this. I somehow managed to get the picture straight in my earlier episodes of Worlds of Wayne, but since it has never worked right. Go figure.

Well I would say that if editing it with Libsyn always worked till now (iTunes 7 was just released a couple weeks ago and the version 7 update to 7.1 was last week) maybe your still doing everything right in Audacity and Libsyn Apple is not reading it right.

With all the other issues with this new version it would not surprise me if that was part of it.

We had a problem with this very early on, and once I started to follow this set of steps the artwork shows up each and every time:

1) Upload your mp3 to Libsyn;

2) Edit your ID3 tags-- all of them *except* the image. Make sure you get the message at the top that says "file updated" or whatever the message says;

3) Close the ID3 tag editing window;

4) Open the ID3 tag editing window, and add your artwork. Make sure you get the message at the top that says "file updated" before closing it.

This seems really stupid, but it works for us. The key is to make sure you get confirmation that the modifications actually took.

Finally, and equally important to all this other stuff: make sure you add the artwork as the very last edit to the ID3 tags. If you go back and change the text, you have to add the artwork again.

I learned all of this the hard way, but follow these steps and you'll be golden. (We had absolutely no problem with our shows under iTunes 7, btw.)

Fascinating! It sounds crazy enough to work. I'll try it in next week's show and see what happens.

Thanks for the info.

There are many variations of the cabbage soup diet, but the best recipe depends on why you are doing the diet.
