I love the idea of video promos (In fact, they're long overdue IMO). Though if there's one suggestion I might make, that would be to make them in the more universal MPEG-1 format (as well?). This way they can be adapted to match the format of the other person's video blog/vidcast.

Plus, the audio can be extracted using a growing number of programs to make an audio only version of the promo as well.

Just a thought

I'd suggest against MPEG-1 as it's muxed and really not so good quailty. Instead I'd suggest quicktime .mov using the motion jpeg codec set to medium quailty. There's no temperal compression and the file sizes are pretty good.
