What do you think of the idea of having a podcast promo contest. Some promos are just as creative as the podcasts themselves!
There could be a set criteria:
Creativity
Persuasivness
Entertaining
Informative
Professional
Sound

I second that emotion.

I like the idea. Nice job on the criteria. I'm amazed at the number of pdocasters who don't have a promo? I've been using the Kiptonic promo exchange, and there are plenty of people without a promo.
I tossed out my two cents on what makes a good promo on show #20

Yeah. I think it could work. Have the listener base be the judges. There could be a form, like a survey, for peope to grade each criteria.
I mean there's some great promos out there that are very creative. Like this one:

great idea!
even though we have a great resource for grabbing promos, the quality of the ones i've heard recently have been sub-par at best.
this would be helpful to both those looking for promos, and those trying to make promos.....

Mine is sub-par at best. But I listened to, uh, whatever show it was (sorry, I've forgotten!), the podcasting school one I think?, that had an episode about promos, and I'm rarin' to do a new one. After the new computer is set up and I'm settled in again. You know, something like this contest would help because it'd be good to hear the best of the best promos to get ideas.

Sounds like a great idea. I've been surprised like some other folks at how few casts have promos available. I suppose it can be tedious but, personally I have a ton of fun with the editing.
