We're trying to spruce up the Podcast Peer Awards, to make them more prominent among podcasters and a better resource for the general public.

We've opened up the forums, so it's no longer a "behind closed doors" thing. Anyone stopping by can watch what is going on. You'll still need to be a validated member before you can post or reply, but you can have a look-see any time.

We're also talking about creating a sampler podcast feed which will contain shows (or digests of shows). This will not only make it easier for PPA members to listen to shows for judging purposes, but will provide the general public with a way to get a good sample of quality shows. We've just started discussing this, and are hashing out the details, so the more input, the better. (This conversation is happening in the Nomination Discussions area, and you do have to be a validated member to see it.)

The PPA is now on Twitter. Add "PodcastPeers" to your follow list, and we'll follow you as well.

We are still looking for ideas and comments on sprucing up the place, and, of course, for even more participation in the Awards. Nominations for PPA 5 are open, and now is the time to vote for your favorite shows and to nominate any we've missed.
