I'm trying to figure out an efficient way to do a promo exchange. Would it make sense to have anyone interested in exchanging promos post in this thread, and then people can contact each other via PM if they want to swap? I'm trying to keep my episodes under 15 minutes, but the next couple of shows look to be on the short side, so I could put a promo in there.

I have 15-second and 30-second versions of Startup BizCast promos. I don't think I can play a promo in that show that's much longer than that, but I'd love to start doing more promo swapping with the right shows.

A positively deafening lack of interest.

The way I do it is I write the podcaster that I want to play their promo and ask them for a link, even if it is available on their site. This way they know I am going to play their promo. I don't ask them to play mine in return. I let them make that decision on their own.

My point for playing other promos is to highlight shows that I personally listen to and like. This is just me, but I would never play a promo for a show that I did not personally endorse.

Some of the people for whom I have played promos have played mine as well.

My situation is odd in that I have 2 shows. One is a non-format show. I just say whatever and promote whatever. The other show is no-nonsense play the interview and I am done. I don't play any promo on that one. But, that is the one that I want promos played for.

I have two shows as well. I need to promote Fighting Back, but as I produce it for a client I'm not sure I'd be able to play promos. Startup BizCast is entirely my show and I want to promote that one as well. It's a strict format, but I'm happy to put a promo on at the end of an episode if I'm going to be under the 15-minute limit I set for myself.

I am willing to play anybodies promo as long as their show is clean and kid friendly. So just pm me and give me your promo and I'll email you back when I get it up.

You already have tons of links to promos, using them to form the core of the Podcast Pickle Promo Directory (Sorry, couldn't think of a word that started with P that meant Directory, else I'd have been far more alliterative) would make me, and many other podcasters, very happy.
