OK, so I just lost my K7 number for the second time. What other voice mail services do people use for their shows?

Hey Melinda. Bruce over at the Zedcast (that's Zedcast.com) just went with a 1888 number. He doesn't list what who provides it but I'm sure you could email him. There is a charge, but I believe it is reasonable.

I've lost K7 three times for lack of use. The last two times I was able to get my original vanity number back. This time they don't seem to be offering that option. I wrote to them a week ago, but haven't heard back. Unless I can get the number I've used in 50 shows back, I'm not going to bother with it any more. I never got enough calls for it to be worth much - I think I've had three calls I played back on the show. So while it was fun, it's no great loss.

The service I got (after losing two K7 lines over the past two years) is at Kall8.com (they are the same company). You can get toll-free lines (Canada/USA 888, 877, 866), for as little as $2 a month (with a $2 set up fee) and then cost per minute rates that are quite low.

You can get (800) and repeating numbers, (easier to remember with lots of the same digits), for $5/month, and vanity numbers for $10-$20/month, depending on complexity.

I use Kall8 as well. Works great.

I grabbed a GrandCentral.com number. Technically, the Terms and Conditions say you can't use it for business usage but it has a really cool click to call feature. FWIW.
