Hi!

I'm sorry that you feel you were "kicked to the curb" by Couplecasts.com, but I really don't understand why you would feel that way. The website clearly defines its purpose. It is a community for couple casters and fans of couple casts. I believe the email you sent to us stated that you don't want to be seen as a couple cast and that you merely want to use the site for added publicity. There are several websites that already exist for the purpose of publicity. Therefore, your public animosity toward the website seems out of place.

Couplecasts.com welcomes any and all Couple Casters who want to be a part of a couplecasting community to join. Fans of couple casts can participate in the forums as well.

All we ask of our members is that their show be a true couple cast with mostly family friendly content and that our members be proud to call themselves a couple cast.

Your website contains nudity and extremely non-family oriented material, which may be great for your show, but does prevent it from being a website we can view in our home. I'm sure you will find much success with your target audience as you definitely have great content for your niche.

I apologize for any mis-understanding or mis-communication on our part. We will take action to make the purpose of couplecasts.com more clear up front to prevent these types of issues going forward.

Much luck to you with your show!

I first went to the couplecasts site to check it out for our show and to find other couplecasts. They are my favorite form of podcast to listen to. Kind of my guilty pleasure. I checked out all of the shows I hadn't yet listened to including yours. I was surprised that yours was on the site because of the pre condition Dan and CJ set. It needed to be office friendly/family friendly or whatever the term is now. In any case you guys don't fit the bill so I was surprised to find you there. But I said hey it's not my site and if Dan and CJ want to let it slide thats okay. I guess what I'm saying is they should have said no from the start because of the explicit nature of your show. To be on and then cut causes bad feelings. I guess there is a learning curve. None of us are professionals.

Don't feel bad. Just do your show to the best of your ability. There is always some group or other someones not going to be a part of. Last year at the expo I met podcasters from all sorts of genres and they were all really good people. So maybe you could cut Dan and CJ some slack. Maybe you could do an explicit couplecast website. Talk to Dan and CJ. It could be a spin off!

It sounds like it's just your show that's not welcome to appear in the couplecast directory. You can still take part in the forums, can't you?

So...you accepted my show without ever checking it out? The content has been there since well before I joined. I highly doubt I'm the only person there just to be seen - I'm just the only one willing to admit it.

And I was kicked to the curb. I wasn't offered a chance to stay. You sent some holier than thou "we are a community" email and when I tried to log in this morning my account was gone.

I don't get it. You just made a big deal in another thread how you're not a couplecast, and now you're making a big deal about the fact that you're no longer listed on a directory for couplecasts? If you were offered a chance to stay, would you have taken it? If so, why would you do that, if you're adamant that your show is not a couplecast just because you happen to be a couple that does a podcast?

So which is it? Are you a couplecast or aren't you? If you are, then stop complaining that you're getting lumped in with couplecasts. If you're not, then stop complaining that you're not listed on a site which is intended to collect shows in a genre to which you don't belong. You can't have it both ways.

We were aware of the content and, to clarify, you were not removed due to the content. You were only removed due to your statements that you don't think you are a couple cast and that you personally would never go looking for a couple cast. We specifically did not remove you due to your content because we had originally accepted your show in the directory and didn't want to exclude you because of it. This has been a learning experience.

Once again, I do want to apologize. You should have been contacted prior to the removal of your show from the directory.

If you truly feel that you belong in the directory and you want to be recognized as a couple cast and participate in the community, please feel free to email me personally. I'm perfectly happy to discuss it with you. I can definitely appreciate why you would feel slighted and I am very sorry for the unpleasant way this has been handled.

So whatever happened to couplecasts.com? I checked out the site, and it looks like the domain has expired.

D'oh! I just read this thread today and thought I'd check out the couple cast site... JNR isn't entirely "family friendly" (we swear a little bit), but the couple cast site doesn't even exist anymore.

Oh well.

It sounded like a good idea.
