For christmas and my birthday I got a room in our house to turn into my studio! Anyhow, where can I buy wall mountable swing arm mic holders that hold standard xlr mics. I need three of them.

I want the ones that are adjustable if possible.

I am so envious of ya Will. I have been looking for them as well, and the closest thing I got to it was a scissors stand. Here is the link in the B&H catalog (no I am not affiliated with them, just the first ones in the google search).

I haven't found a wall mountable one at all though, and I have been searching for that high and low. The AKG table mounded one is the ONLY one I have found. If you find another please let me know.

Cool! If you have a Guitar Center in your area, you might check there for a mic holder. If they don't have one, they will probably know where you can get one.

I can't find the link to a really nice one I saw a while back but I will keep looking. If you are handy you can buy a wall mount "scissor" lamp, (get a good quality one ikea don't cut it) and you can mod it to hold the microphone clip or shock mount.

Congratulations Will!

Can't vouch for the quality, but there are some here on eBay.

NIce, Will. I want a studio room as well but (so far) the Wife won't allow me to turn EITHER of the spare bedrooms into one.

I did get a mic and have a mixer on order, though. Which Rawks.

Will... check Bryan Hill Entertainment on Maple ST. He's a karoke store and should have what you're looking for, maybe Millard Music House would have something as well. I use a swing arm style mic stand that you might see a singing drummer use... the stand sits behind or beside your chair and has an adjustable swing arm.... can be used as a stand up or sit down stand... get ahold of me if you need some local help in this area.... my years of a karaoke DJ might become useful...

I 'unno, I think Heil Sound has the best mic...and I don't know Omaha, and Mikey has a point...

All I can think of is look in film production stores as well as music ones, because they might carry wall mounts as well.

I found one on ebay. Do a search under:

New microphone arm for AKG c414, C2000b, C4, C1000s
eric tomorrow
i got mine on www.bhphotovideo.com the akg one.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/2861...ssor_Stand.html

it's a great stand, but you won't be moving it while recording it unless you have a noise gate. the springs make some noise.

don't make one out of a lamp you'll just end up replacing it sooner than you would a proper stand, plus you still need somewhere to put the cable.

here is one of mine in action.
