Tease Well, I never! I'll have you know that I created the forum thread prior to uploading the file so that I would be able to include the link for voting in the ID3 tags of the file, thank you very much. The fact that I am a tease had nothing to do with it. -------------------- |

Congratulations to both finalists. It was a fun ride and Each and every story was fun to listen to as the weeks went on. I voted this round as I did in each... for the story that I liked at the time I listened. Phil Rossi's story was the one I "dug" this time around, the voices were awesome and the "I have no legs, just a face" is still making me laugh.
I would join any cult Laurence Simon wants to start and love everything he has written (that I have heard so far). This contest made me believe I could tell a story and gave me the opportunity to listen to others tell stories created from nothing but suggestions and sounds... "I FREAKING LOVED THAT"! Don't know if I will be there next season as a storyteller... but I will listen and LOVE every minute of it. Thank you for giving us all something to enjoy... The Cult has spoken! I'll make sure they have a few pitchers of it at Kennealy's tonight. (I'm going to need pizza I can cut my wrists with.) i loved the first story. one big reason i loved it is that i am really new to podcasts and i felt this would make a great advertisement to make people interested in podcasting and podcast pickle. i dont know if the judges said this but another thing i liked about the first story was the way that you were drawn in into the story. it starts off and your by the fire with the chief and then it carries you off to be with gary and the pickle and then it brings you back around. wonderful i also think it was neat that he devoted such a big chunk of time to thanking everyone at the end. i liked the other one as well but it lost me in the middle. i do love laurences use of his voice as soundeffects/enhancers. but it just wasnt my fav. great job to both story tellers. but i felt the first story one was befitting of the shows finale. i like! |

I think its in our Pickle Tales contract to do the commercials. Wait until you see the beach-themed spot for the Ford Focus. It's both zany! and wacky!

Great job on both stories Laurence and Phil. It was great hearing each of their stories, except for when I was competing against them.
My take on this round... For me, I just thought that Phil's story was more accessible. Laurence was chocked full of 'inside baseball' from all around the podcast community and I've been a listener for quite a while now and didn't 'get' all of his references. I realize that this community is full of people who are very 'inside', but a competition like this can be used to reach out and pull new people into the medium. I think Phil's story did that better. Also, he gave me a thank you at the end... suck up! It worked. Laurence. I did like the story, and I was impressed with how deep the content was. I think that was the best part of the story. I just think that it is also a hinderance for this particular competition. Thanks Christiana, Gary, Clinton and Shelly. You guys had a tough job and your efforts made all of the shows a joy to listen to... even when you were ripping into stories that I liked |

My feeling was, if we simply aided in getting the conversation going, we had accomplished our mission. -------------------- Clinton

One of the things I took into account on this story was the audience that it was intended for. It would be interesting to see how many people are listening to this that are Podcast Pickle podcasters, how many are "regular" podcasters, and how many are outsiders/listeners only. I took a gamble with this one and wrote it from an insider perspective, since it's Season One and most of the audience will likely be folks that are familiar with the Pickle or are familiar with the various participants. Sort of like a battle of the marching bands between local teams... not many folks from hither and yon coming in just yet. The gamble might not pay off this time, referring to Curry and Leo Laporte and Cochrane and "Hopalong" Warady and such, but I think it was the right call. Plus, let's face it - Zune-bashing's so 2007. (Just got a note saying "blubrry.com has a vowel in it, you know." Yes, I know. But I figured that Crappy Hayes wouldn't.) -------------------- |

Plus, let's face it - Zune-bashing's so 2007. Well I mean come on, they sell a BROWN Zune. I want to see the signature on that memo "RE: We need a Brown Zune, you know for 70's time travelers" "Ummm I think old man gates just got ahold of the april fools joke and signed off on it." "Uh oh" As for voting, I'm curious. Are most people voting on the piece or on the contestant for this one? Because it's typical in these sorts of contests to start out voting for the piece, and then once you get a favorite to start supporting "Your" contestant. Just curious. THREAD NEED STICKY!!
