I sent a quick update on Twitter regarding an updated snow forecast earlier, and I wanted to put one here after the new data came in. The two parts of our upcoming storm (one from the north, one from the south) simply do not look like they will be syncing to the same magnitude they appeared to over the last few days. Add the fact that temperatures will not drop far overnight, and our threat for significant accumulations of snow are now down. 1-3 inches, maybe 4 on the extreme south side appears to be the best bet right now. Main roads should be in great shape in the morning with untreated side streets with an inch or so of snow on them.

Light to moderate snow overnight will taper off mid-morning before redeveloping late in the afternoon and evening as the arctic front comes in. At this time, this would be the time for roads to be in the worst shape as temperatures will be falling rapidly. Maybe an inch to finish off the event.

So, certainly not the potential that this storm appeared to have yesterday, but still expect some of the white stuff to greet you in the morning.
