However, the vast majority of those diagnosed as HIV-Positive have not gotten AIDS (although many have died from the side effects of the HIV drugs that were supposed to help them) and are living happy and healthy lives. But being told youâre HIV-Positive is still a traumatic experience, and changes lives in an instant. Each week we will tell the true-life story of one of these HIV-Positives â how the diagnosis affected their lives and what they have done about it. They come from all walks of life: straight, gay, male, female, black, white, young, old, and everything in between. However, they all have two things in common: they all suffered the emotional and psychological trauma, family stress, social rejection and financial hardship that is part and parcel of being told you are HIV-Positive; and they all stopped, or never started taking the HIV medications recommended by the medical-pharmaceutical establishment. â which is why they are alive today to tell their story. Rob is unique in that he was part of the Hepatitis B vaccine trials that ran from 1979 to 1980, and there are those who believe that HIV was linked to these vaccine trials. Rob talks about his diagnosis as HIV-Positive in 1985 (and retroactively to 1979) and his experience in the Hepatitis trials, about his belief that HIV does not cause AIDS, and about his long-term non-progressor status without taking AZT or other HIV medications. He also describes what it was like in San Francisco in the early 1980s in the gay bath houses and the rampant use of antibiotics at that time.
